GEOGRAPHY
Earthquake any sudden shaking of the ground caused by the passage of seismic waves through Earth’s rocks. Seismic waves are produced when some form of energy stored in Earth’s crust is suddenly released, usually when masses of rock straining against one another suddenly fracture and “slip.” Earthquakes occur most often along geologic faults, narrow zones where rock masses move in relation to one another.
<Earthquake >
Earthquake are the one of greatest effective natural disaster which cause of my loses of life and property Every years,around the world.In simple word,earth-quake mean shaking of the earth.
Table of contents
<CAUSES>
➡️ All natural earthquake take place on the lithosphere which is the position depth approx 200 kilometres from the surface of earth.
➡️ It is cause due to release of energy which generated the wave that travel in all direction.e.g-please see blog page all wave knowledge.
➡️ The Release of energy occurs along a fault which is the sharp break in the crustal rocks.
<Earthquake wave>
Basically,earthquake waves are two types:
➡️ Body wave
➡️ Surface wave
➡️ Body wave are generated due to the release of energy at the focus and move in all the direction of body of earth.Hence,as named as body wave.
➡️ Body wave interact with the surface rocks and generate new set of wave called surface wave.
The velocity of waves changes as they travel through different materials with different densities.
< MODE OF EARTHQUAKE >
➡️ The most common known as "Tectonic earthquake" due to sliding of rocks along a fault plane.
➡️ Sometimes the roofs of underground mine collapse cause minor premise in minor activity area is called collapse earthquakes.
➡️ Earthquake that occurs in the area of large reservoir are refer to as induced earthquakes.
➡️ Ground shaking may also occur due to explosion of the chemical or nuclear device as known explosion earthquakes.
<EFFECTS OF EARTHQUAKE>
Earthquake is a natural hazard.The following are the intermediate hazardous effect of the earthquake:
➡️ Ground shaking
➡️ Land and mud slides
➡️ Soil liquefaction
➡️ Ground Lurching
➡️ Structural collapse
➡️ Falling objects
➡️ Tsunami
